Election day Art

Hello again!

There is nothing better to do while following how election night unfolds than to craft!
Here's my final product!

I tried something new this time. I inked the background with orange and rust (they translated a little bit yellow and orange on the photo, oh well!) and tried to splatter a few water drops for  a different effect.... i had a rough time-my water didn't want to splatter. Anyhow, somehow, that's what I got! I used the Retro Sketch for guidance and the Color Throwdown palette. And-no stamps!

Paper: Recollections(white,vellum),
Pattern paper
Ink: s.e.i. (cumquat, cayenne)
Accessories: Pearl stickers (Recollections), wood chips (American craft)
Size: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Retro Trick or Treat

Halloween is just around the corner!

Which means that, as always, I'm way behind on prepping goodie bags for my nephews. And that includes fun cards. Because I'm the FUN Aunt :)

I came up with this card, which will go to my friend's little girl. (So my problem with the Nephews still stand!I better get moving!!!LOL!)

I have this adorable goth angel of Death (I think..) that was a downloadable image from BugabooStamps. I stamped it on a pre-cut Tag, watercolored it and incorporated it in the Retro Sketch. I borrowed the idea for the colors from the Color Q challenge blog. And there you have it!

How creepy adorable is she!

#Grateful

Happy Wednesday Everybody!

Thanksgiving is around the corner and I'm slammed with work this days, so I am trying to create some cards ahead of time...

I started with the sketch from the Retro sketch Challenges and used the color cue offered by the Just Us Girls. A quick frame die framed one of my sentiments and also qualified me for the Happy Little Stampers challenge.

The result- this eclectic modern hash-tag hip of a card.

I hope you like it!

Retro Sketch

Happy Friday Y'all!

I'm joining in today with another romantic project. I guess I'm feeling lovey...

I decided to join the Retro Sketch ladies for their challenge and combine it with the Color Throwdown  palette of colors. The girls at Fusion have this very cool picture that really inspired the use of the polka dot washi and the decision of going slightly vintage (color wise) for the base of the card.
It's a non traditional Valentine's Day card, because of the colors but it has hearts, so I guess that works :)

Hello…Call me, maybe?

It's Thursday!

Not that it matters, but I am off today, so I have time to craft. That being said-here's my creation:

I started by following the sketch offered by the Gals at Retro Sketch Challenges and mixed it with the Color recipe  from ColorQ blog. And since Little Tangles were waiving at me, saying Hi, I said Hello back. The result- Retro Color Q mash :)
Who knows, maybe it's a sigh that Adele and Carly Rae Jepsen need to  collaborate and have a hit together

 Here the inspirations:)

Labor day challenge

Happy labor day to all  :)
Since its a LABOR day and I have to go to work,  I felt like I have to celebrate a little somehow.  So here it is- a thank you card to express my gratitude that I have a job so I can support my crazy obsession with paper,  stamps,  ribbons and buttons (especially buttons)

I  started with the amazing inspiration from As you see it. They added a twist- a 10 min creation.  OK,  I'm game :) but really, it took me 13 and it's only because I spent too much time removing the washi tape of my fingers and trying to glue it to where it belong, the card that is. I am probably the most glue-challenged person :( Also I grabbed the sketch idea over at The retro Sketch and you already saw the final result
